From historical museums to grand plantation houses or exotic botanical gardens, you can never run out of places to visit or beautiful
sights to behold. Below are a few places of interest, but bear in mind that there are many more for you to explore.
Lake Antoine
This shallow crater - lake, like Grand Etang, is host to a wide variety of wildlife. The lake’s perimeter
trail, a beautiful walk in itself, is another of Grenada’s excellent attractions for birdwatchers. Among the species
frequently sighted are the snail kite, the fulvous whistling duck, large billed seedfinch, gray kingbird and limpkin.
Gun Point
Gun Point, located on the Northern point of the island is named after the cannon erected by the British in the 1780s. That still
graces the landscape.
The Carriacou Museum
The Carriacou Museum in Paterson Street is housed in a restored cotton gin mill and managed by the Carriacou Historical Society. There are
Amerindian artifacts as well as exhibits tracing the early British and French occupation of the islands. There is also an African section.
Bay Gardens
Situated on the woodland slope on the site of an old sugar mill, Bay Gardens features palms, tropical American trees, decorative ornamentals
and foliage plants. Open daily 7 am to 6 pm.
